180 Pre-School Ministry

180 Pre-School Ministry

For ages two through five, our priority is for the young child to enjoy learning about God and His Bible! We use a very unique approach with our kids called "First Look" curriculum, it is designed to give preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father.

"First Look" uses several key strategies:

1. It teaches less for more
(Repeats one key truth (Bottom Line) all month long.)
2.It engages the five senses
(Helps master the Biblical concept through creative activities.)
3. It teaches with the end in mind
Helps a child by age five, to believe that:
  • God Made Me
  • God Loves Me
  • Jesus Wants to Be My Friend Forever
4. It helps the children experience worship
(Encourages children to talk to God any time, any place.)
5. It connects at home
(Provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home.)
Each week is full of objects for kids to touch, wild and wiggly activities to get them moving, crafts they will love getting into, and real life situations they can relate to. Our goal is to help each child master one concept at a time by creatively repeating the Bottom Line in a way that it will stick.
Each teaching session begins with activities to introduce kids to the day's topic and help them feel welcome and comfortable in their classroom.
Next, preschoolers take part in a large group time that includes a Bible story and worship. We believe preschoolers are wired to worship! So each week we include a worship segment with suggested music to encourage preschoolers to openly express their love for who God is and to praise Him for all He has created. After large group, preschoolers take part in a variety of activities that will help them apply what they're learning. And finally, during small group time children will begin to understand that they can talk to God at any time and in any place. Kids will be encouraged to openly communicate with God in their own words while developing their ability to know and worship Him.
